Over 1,000 eFlow-CARs will be featured at Harrison Albany building 2, also known as “The Smith”. 

Construction on 710,000 square foot Harrison Albany Block development in the heart of Boston’s South End neighborhood started back in 2018. This 710-unit housing complex is the largest residential projects to break ground in the city’s history. Building 1 consists of 460,000 sq/ft, 483 units, 19 stories with a rooftop terrace and 2,000 sq/ft of retail space on the ground floor. Building 2 consists of 246,000 sq/ft, 227 units, 11 stories and 3,800 sq/ft of retail space on the ground floor. Some 71 of the 710 residential units will be defined affordable.

eFlow-CAR 4″ (10-30 CFM) and eFlow-CAR 4″ (30-60 CFM) are being installed at all apartment exhausts and eFlow-CAR 6″, 8″ 10″ are being utilized for supply application. eFlow-CAR is a simple solution to balancing ventilation systems. Constant Airflow Regulator is a device that automatically regulates airflows in ventilation systems to constant levels. The passive control element responds to duct pressure, and requires no electric sensors, pneumatic sensors or controls. eFlow-CARs promote high indoor air quality and energy savings.

This building was designed by CBT Architect. Suffolk Construction is the general contractor, R.W. Sullivan is the MEP engineer on this project.

Installation of eFlow-CARs is undertaken by Quality Air Metal Inc.

The manufacturers representative, Air distribution Corp.  facilitated the sale of eFlow products for this project.

The Smith building 1 was awarded LEED Silver certification. The Smith is the first multi-family project to achieve Multi-Family Residential v2.1 certification. Building 2 is aiming for the same certification  with expected completion date of early 2023.
