Twin Parks Terrace, 373 East 183rd Street, Bronx NY

Affordable Housing Development

The 14-story Twin Parks Terrace building, completed in 2023, offers 182 affordable units for low and moderate-income households, with 46 apartments dedicated to families transitioning from shelters. This new construction, built on underutilized NYCHA-owned land, prioritizes public housing residents for 25% of the units. eFlow partnered with Mechanical Technologies for product representation, while All About AC handled the installation of eFlow products. They installed 4” eFlow Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs) set at 10-30 CFM, to optimize ventilation and enhance energy efficiency throughout the building.

Project Background

Designed by Danois Architect, the project provides 182 units for low and moderate-income households, with 46 units reserved for families transitioning from shelters. Built on NYCHA-owned land, the project reflects New York’s ongoing efforts to address housing needs for low and moderate-income residents.

Project Details

This new construction prioritizes public housing residents, with 25% of units set aside for them. The residential units replace an underutilized parking lot, transforming it into affordable housing for the Bronx community.

Benefits of Installing eFlow CARs

  • Energy Efficiency: Regulates airflow to reduce energy consumption.
  • Improved Air Quality: Ensures balanced air distribution, reducing pollutants.
  • Enhanced Comfort: Provides a healthier living environment for residents.

Conclusion

Twin Parks Terrace demonstrates how innovative energy solutions, like eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators, can elevate affordable housing projects. The building’s enhanced air quality and energy efficiency ensure comfort for its residents while contributing to a more sustainable urban landscape.

eFlow-CAR FACTS

eFlow-CAR is a simple solution to balancing ventilation systems. Constant Airflow Regulator is a device that automatically regulates airflows in ventilation systems to constant levels. The passive control element responds to duct pressure, and requires no electric sensors, pneumatic sensors or controls. eFlow-CARs promote high indoor air quality and energy savings.
