Staten Island’s Pioneering Approach to Shelter Design: eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators installed at 44 Victory Boulevard
In the heart of Staten Island, a landmark stands tall and proud, not only as a beacon of hope for the city’s homeless population but also as a shining example of innovation, progress and sustainability.
This new Shelter covers an impressive 200,000 square feet and sprawls across five stories. While the ground floor boasts a commercial expanse of 10,300 square feet, the real marvel lies in the upper floors, designed to house apartment-style facilities. Here, up to 500 individuals, primarily women and children from the city’s homeless demographic, will find a safe haven.
Given the scale and significance of the building, ensuring a comfortable and healthy indoor environment is paramount. Enter eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs). These state-of-the-art mechanisms, installed within the premises, are designed to maintain a consistent airflow, irrespective of changes in duct pressure.
The installation of 4” CARs set to deliver 30 CFM ensures that the shelter maintains optimum air circulation, preventing issues like mold growth, stale air, and uneven temperatures – all crucial factors in guaranteeing the health and comfort of its residents.
The new shelter at 44 Victory Boulevard is not just about bricks and mortar.
