17-21 Redfern Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators are installed at 17-21 Redfern Avenue building part of the Rockaway Village Complex.

We are delighted to announce an exciting development in Far Rockaway, Queens – the Rockaway Village complex. This transformative project, spearheaded by non-profit developer Phipps Houses under the Mott Center, LLC, is bringing 1,700 new affordable housing units to an underutilized area, breathing new life into the community.

Within this remarkable complex, 17-21 Redfern Avenue building features  an innovative feature:  eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs). Standing tall at 123 feet with 12 stories, the 17-21 Redfern Avenue building is poised to be a shining example of modern sustainable living. With 354 residential units and 188 enclosed parking spaces, this architectural marvel is designed by the renowned Marvel Architects, combining functionality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal seamlessly.

One of the notable aspects of this project is the incorporation of eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs). These cutting-edge devices have been strategically installed in all the kitchen and bathroom exhausts throughout the building, ensuring a consistent, optimal and balanced airflow. The 4″ CARs 20 CFM and 5″ CARs at 60 CFM  have been seamlessly installed utilizing  6″x6″ mounting plates, delivering efficient ventilation that enhances the indoor air quality.

By utilizing eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators, the 17-21 Redfern Avenue building reaps numerous benefits for its residents and the environment. Let’s explore some of these advantages:

Energy Efficiency: eFlow-CARs are designed to regulate airflow at a constant rate, regardless of changes in pressure. This ensures that the ventilation system operates at an optimum level, reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable practices.

Improved Indoor Air Quality: With eFlow-CARs, the building maintains a steady flow of fresh air, preventing the buildup of pollutants, odors, and moisture. This creates a healthier indoor environment, minimizing the risk of respiratory issues and improving overall well-being.

Enhanced Comfort: By effectively controlling airflow, eFlow-CARs provide a consistent and comfortable environment throughout the building. Residents can enjoy a pleasant living experience, free from drafts and stuffiness.

Noise Reduction: eFlow-CARs feature a specially designed aerodynamic shape that minimizes noise transmission through the ventilation system. This ensures a quiet and serene living space, promoting relaxation and tranquility.

The integration of eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators in this project not only showcases a dedication to cutting-edge technology and sustainable living but also demonstrates a commitment to the well-being and comfort of residents. It sets a new standard for energy-efficient and healthy living, inspiring future developments to follow suit. Installation of eFlow-Products was undertaken by Demar Plumbing. The manufacturers representative, SRS Enterprises, Inc, facilitated the sale of eFlow products for this project. Photo credit Marvel Architects.

Flow-CAR FACTS

eFlow-CAR is a simple solution to balancing ventilation systems. Constant Airflow Regulator is a device that automatically regulates airflows in ventilation systems to constant levels. The passive control element responds to duct pressure, and requires no electric sensors, pneumatic sensors or controls. eFlow-CARs promote high indoor air quality and energy savings.
